Your questions, answered

What’s wrong with cash savings?

There’s no problem holding money in cash savings accounts, and it’s actually recommended that you do this to fund short-term expenses like holidays and repairs. But if you want to grow your wealth for the long term, investing is often a better option.

If inflation is higher than the interest rate on your savings account, your money is losing value in real terms. Investing is riskier because the value of your money may go up and down and you might not get back what you put in, but it does give you greater opportunities for growth.

Is there a minimum investment amount?

In theory, you can open an investment account such as a Stocks and Shares ISA with a very small pot of cash. But the best approach is to determine what the right figure is for your circumstances and goals, and that’s where we come in.

As our client, you’ll sit down with one of our experienced advisers. Once they understand why you’d like to invest and what you want to get out of it, they can develop a plan to help you achieve this. And as fully independent financial advisers, we can give you guidance that’s free from any restrictions.

Do you support ethical investing?

As an investor, you need to be comfortable with what you’re doing, and that doesn’t necessarily just mean the investment process. If you hold certain principles and beliefs and want to make sure your investment choices align with those, you’ve found the right partner in us.

Our experts can help you invest in green or socially responsible businesses, and avoid companies or industries having a negative effect on the world. We’re here to help you grow your money and feel good about it too.

Will I have to pay for a regular review?

Part of investing is understanding that your money may go up and down, but it’s still important to take stock of performance. As our client, regular reviews of your financial plan and the investments you’ve made are included in your fees.

Before you’ve signed a single document, everything will be clearly explained, so you understand exactly what you’re paying for. If you’re happy to proceed, we’ll agree how often we’ll get together to discuss the progress you’ve made and make sure you’re on track.
